Les and staff, I have been to many a dentist in my lifetime, but I have never been treated as if I were part of a family. You all are the best and the quality of dental care is professional and exceptional. Keep on smiling! In the winter of 1975-76, I visited Les Miller's office because one of my 15 or more year old fillings had broken and needed replacement. I chose Dr. Miller's office because it was close to my residence and I could walk to his office. At that time I was a student without a car. I continued as Dr. Miller's patient since that time even though his office and my residence have changed locations several times. I have recommended him as a dentist numerous times. He is the best dentist in every respect. His ability to rebuild a tooth with very little surface above the gum line and a minimal amount of root below the gum line is an art, according to his staff. His goal for every patient is keeping a healthy mouth full of natural teeth to the extent possible. (He is not a "drill and fill" dentist.) He focuses on teaching patients to care for their teeth and gums, thereby avoiding tooth decay and gum disease. In the early 1980's, I had numerous silver fillings in all four quadrants replaced with gold crowns. In addition, a ceramic filling in my front upper teeth was replaced. With that investment, and the further investment of an equilibration, my twice a year dental appointments now consist of periodontal probing, teeth cleaning, and examination for tumors or other disease. X-rays are taken only every few years. My last filling was in 1986. Although there was only a small amount of decay at that time, Dr. Miller shook his head and remarked that I shouldn't be having any further decay if I practiced the regular dental care his office taught. It was then that I realized he wanted his patients to take responsibility for the care of their teeth. I became more serious and consistent with cleaning, flossing, brushing and diet. Absent injury or illness, I expect the trend in my office visits to continue. For these reasons, I continue to be a patient of Dr. Miller's regardless of what type of insurance coverage I have and regardless of whether he belongs to the MetLife Preferred Dentist Program. - Jack . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
